What we do

Information Services

Timber Towns Victoria provide a valuable resource to member councils through covering topics that relate to the strategic directions of the organisation, such as forestry in the planning scheme, extreme weather events, transport and infrastructure, plantation and native forestry, forestry and water, forestry education, forest industry stakeholder panel, plantations and land valuation, amongst many other topics as wequested by our members. TTV finds the best speakers on these topics to deliver presentations to the membership at reguolar general meetings throughout the year.

Timber Towns Victoria provide a valuable service to member councils through the facilitation of networking events throughout the year. These events allow for member councilors and officers who face similar barriers to regularly meet and discuss issues, and create a network across Victoria. TTV also provides members with the capacity to network with industry stakeholders and guest speakers from various government departments, and State and Federal Politicians as they come to speak.

Timber Towns Victoria provide a collective voice for our members on many issues relating to forestry and local government. Previous advocacy has assisted in access to State Government funding for timber-impacted roads, as outlined in the TImber Industry Road Evaluation Study. $4.3 Million dollars was directed to eight different jobs in eight municipalities across Victoria through the Transport Solutions Program.
